Dry type transformers are a growing market globally. Primarily being used in industry across the world, their use in utility applications is also growing, where utilities are increasingly using dry-type transformers in compact substations used in urban settings. However, this is still a small segment of the installed base compared to the industrial segment.

Another growing sector is renewable generation, especially wind and solar farms, which are using more and more dry-type transformers. It is estimated that globally around 85% of dry-type transformers are installed in industry and only ~15 % in utility applications.
