Descriptions of skills
I started my career in transformers as a shell-form transformer development and design engineer with Westinghouse at their Muncie, Indiana large power transformer factory. Since then I performed a number of different roles including: Program Manager for the US Navy’s NAVSEA fleet improvement programs; transformer components Engineering, Marketing & Aftermarket Service manager; Global Power Transformer Winding Improvement Project Manager; Commercial Operations Manager for the ABB St. Louis power transformer facility; and a variety of transformer service related roles including Engineering Solutions Manager, Marketing Manager and Director of Technology and Business Development. I was part of the conceptual development and continues support team for the ABB Red TIE (Transformer Information Exchange) series of technical sharing sessions for customers, continuing since 2008 and have presented papers as many conferences. I was the ABB lead on the DHS Recovery Transformer (RecX) concept demonstration program and have provided the industry support on resiliency and hardening of power transformers. I have been an IEEE PES member since 1977 and have been actively involved in the development of IEEE transformer standards, including tutorial presentations at the Transformers Committee meetings.DM
