TMC Transformers is a wide-reaching company, with a long experience in the design and manufacture of medium and low voltage dry type transformers and reactors, both using cast resin and VPI technology. All the products are ideal for distribution and special applications: two different technologies combined under a single roof, to offer to customers the most suitable technology and service. TMC is manufacturing dry type transformers and reactors for all applications worldwide, such as industry, building and infrastructures, traction substations, marine and offshore, oil and gas, renewable energy, battery storage, mining and data centers.
TMC has a large customer base, which led to the development of all types of customized solutions in the world of dry transformers. This experience has made possible the development of creative projects adapted to the needs of the clients, both in transformers for indoor and outdoor installation, that are able to reach temperatures of -50°C in operation, as well as incorporating different cooling systems (natural air, forced with exchangers, air-water or air-air).
TMC invests heavily in research and development. Dry transformers continue to evolve: new materials, resins, types of insulation, cooling systems.
In fact, a team of technical experts, electrical and mechanical engineers make new developments and solutions possible for our customers.
Tools and methodologies such as finite elements ensure the highest quality product, capable of withstanding short-circuit mechanical stresses and maintaining operational reliability. The IEEE T&D Exhibition in New Orleans – April 25-28, 2022 – represents an opportunity for energy professionals to reconnect and explore a range of ideas driving change in the industry and TMC will promote solutions and equipment in the electrical transmission and distribution industry. TMC focuses its participation in this fair on Dry Type Submersible Network Transformers suitable for application in underground vaults on sidewalks in densely populated cities.
In case of heavy rain, these vaults can be flooded and for this reason the transformer is located inside a completely sealed tank.
Dry type submersible network transformers do not contain oil, avoiding risks of fire propagation in the cities; they are made of entirely welded tank and supplied with external tap changer that facilitates the voltage regulation according to the network. The footprint is similar to liquid-filled units so they are easily interchangeable. Network transformers are the ideal solution for supplying and distributing energy within infrastructure projects aiming at high efficiency and fire safety. The insulation system is flame retardant and self-extinguishing, making them a safe and reliable choice over combustible fluid-filled transformers.
At the Exhibition, TMC plans to promote the network transformer developed by the company’s R&D team, interact with customers, share experiences and advise customers on TMC’s full range of solutions and proposals in dry transformers.
