GameChange Solar Expands Transformer Manufacturing in India

24 Nov 2025
GameChange Solar, a US-based, top three global leader in tracker and fixed tilt racking systems, is set to expand its manufacturing footprint in India with a new transformer facility in Taloja, Maharashtra.

The 180,000 sq ft plant will produce up to 1,800 medium-voltage transformers annually, ranging from 0.5 MVA to 25 MVA and voltage levels up to 69 kV. The company expects the facility’s total capacity to reach 5,400 MVA as operations scale.

The move is part of GameChange BOS’s strategy to support growing domestic and international demand from renewable energy projects, energy storage systems, and data centers. By manufacturing transformers locally, the company aims to reduce delivery timelines and strengthen India’s domestic supply chain, aligning with the “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives.

GameChange Solar has secured 7 GW of orders in FY25, with more than 13 GW of projects installed or under construction nationwide. Its domestic manufacturing ecosystem for tracker and racking components now exceeds 20 GW per year.

Industry analysts note that the expansion reinforces India’s position as a global renewable energy manufacturing hub while enabling GameChange Solar to serve both emerging and mature energy markets, including Europe and the United States.
