LS Electric Secures $312M Ultra-High-Voltage Transformer Deal for U.S. Data Center
LS Electric has signed a contract worth $312.04 million (₩459.8 billion) to supply ultra-high-voltage (UHV) transformers to a major U.S. private power company. The transformers, rated up to 525 kV, will support a renewable energy power plant providing electricity to a large data center in the southeastern United States. The delivery period is scheduled from 2027 to 2029.
This deal marks the largest single UHV transformer contract in LS Electric’s history and represents a significant step up from the company’s previous 115 kV and 345 kV transformer projects. The company has indicated that this expansion into higher-voltage classes enhances its credibility in data center power infrastructure and strengthens its footprint in the North American market.
With this order, LS Electric’s outstanding UHV transformer backlog has surpassed $1.6B (₩2 trillion). The company reported total outstanding orders of $3.3B (₩4.1 trillion) as of the third quarter, with expectations for further growth in the fourth quarter and into 2026. Earlier this month, the company also secured two additional North American data center projects worth $93M (₩110 billion) and $112M (₩133 billion), respectively.
This contract highlights the growing demand for renewable energy-powered infrastructure to support large-scale data centers and reinforces LS Electric’s position as a key supplier of advanced transformer technology in global markets.
