Virginia Transformer Announces 70% Production Increase at Rincon Facility
Virginia Transformer, the largest U.S.-owned manufacturer of power transformers in North America, revealed plans to expand its Rincon, Georgia facility to further solidify its leadership position in the industry. The expansion, set to begin in January 2026, will increase the plant's production capacity by approximately 70% and add 400 new jobs. The new investments will enhance capabilities in vertical winding, core building, material handling, and drying equipment.
Located in a 250,000-square-foot facility, the Georgia Transformer plant produces power transformers ranging from 30 MVA to 500 MVA, up to 525 kV. The plant is renowned for its ability to deliver the shortest lead times in the industry, a key differentiator for Virginia Transformer. The expansion will further optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring the company continues to meet the growing demands of utilities, renewable energy sectors, and other industrial applications.
Prabhat Jain, CEO of Virginia Transformer, stated, "This investment underscores our commitment to our customers and continues our legacy of quality and innovation. We are excited to grow and contribute to the development of the energy and industrial sectors."
The expansion is part of a broader strategy by Virginia Transformer to improve operational efficiency and support the increased demand for large power transformers.
